The films series is driven by the desire to foster a deeper connection between the people of this city and the cultural histories of Santa Monica and Los Angeles at large. With the same spirit of celebration as a holiday movie marathon, PLAZA FILM NIGHTS will honor the diverse histories of Los Angeles, featuring films rooted in the city's identity and geography, from Hollywood to Watts, Mulholland Drive to Chinatown, South Central to Beverly Hills and every freeway in between. Our hope is to provide the framework for an open, diverse, multi-generational dialogue about our relationship to place and space within the complex topography of Los Angeles.

Ice at Downtown Santa Monica has generously hosted the first event series by The Plaza at Santa Monica, located at the future site of what will be an innovative, multi-faceted space for residents and visitors alike to enjoy free music, film, art, poetry, an updated skating rink, community gardens, creative workspace, ocean views, and more.

While we have exciting plans for The Plaza, we're thrilled to welcome the community to join us at PLAZA FILM NIGHTS this winter season. 

Schedule
PLAZA FILM NIGHTS will take place every Wednesday, with an 8PM LA-centric film and a 6PM family-friendly movie celebrating seasonal traditions.
