LIGHT UP THE HOLIDAYS IN DOWNTOWN SANTA MONICA

Winterlit Programming Provides Family-Friendly Holiday Happenings for the Festive Season

SANTA MONICA, November 14, 2018 – Good tidings for what's certain to be the merriest – and brightest – holiday season in Downtown Santa Monica yet. Winterlit, a series of seasonal events and experiences hosted by Downtown Santa Monica, Inc., will kick off next week, providing ample opportunities for residents and visitors alike to get out and enjoy this time of year with loved ones.

One of the most notable elements of this year's Winterlit programming is a new holiday light installation and daily show that will brighten up the Third Street Promenade like never before. Featuring thousands of colorful, twinkling lights and a dancing neon light show synchronized to festive tunes and falling "snow," the Merry and Bright Light Show is sure to have everyone feeling jolly. Each block of the Third Street Promenade features a unique light show element and complements the beautifully-lit ficus trees and dazzling holiday décor on 2nd Street and 4th Street.

"With activities ranging from nightly menorah lightings during Hanukkah to our annual tree lighting to the opening of the Westside's favorite outdoor ice skating rink, we are thrilled to be able to provide diverse and dynamic programming for the holiday season," said Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. Director of Marketing & Communications Mackenzie Carter. "We hope everyone will take an enjoyable stroll through the neighborhood to experience all of the Winterlit programming – and while you're here, grab a bite to eat and check some items off your holiday shopping list!"
