Permits are issued through the Solid Waste Division at 310-458-2223. A bin room is located in each of the six parking structures (alley side). There are separate bins for trash, recycling and cardboard boxes. Cardboard boxes must be broken down before disposal. Merchants will be assessed a fine for items not disposed of properly.

Exterior Signage
Contact Bayside at 310-393-8355 for information regarding City ordinances regulating signage. Freestanding signs and display fixtures are prohibited from being placed at the exterior of a Downtown business.
Graffiti Removal
The City can only remove graffiti from a building if there is a permission/release form on file at Bayside (310-393-8355). For graffiti removal, call the City of Santa Monica?s Graffiti Hotline at 310-458-2231. The graffiti will be removed free of charge, usually within 24 to 48 hours.

Doorways Municipal code section SMMC 4.08.097(a) prohibits people from sitting or lying in a business entrance. A sign citing the ordinance must be posted in view for the Santa Monica Police to enforce the code. The sign states, "Sitting or lying in this entrance between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. is prohibited."

Parking in the public structures is free for the first two hours; thereafter, $1 for each half hour, with a maximum of $7 per day. There is a $3 flat rate after 5:59 p.m. Monthly parking passes may be available.
Contact Nancy at the PCI office (310 576 4743) to get Parking "Debit Cards" for quick and simple Parking Garage access and no need to carry cash.
